AC Repair Awareness
Different symptoms can point to different cooling-system issues
Air conditioning problems may appear as weak cooling, frequent cycling, unusual sound, odor, moisture, visible ice, or a system that will not start. These symptoms are useful clues, but they do not always identify the exact cause.
For that reason, diagnosis is more useful than guessing which part needs attention.
1
Weak or missing coolingThe system operates, but indoor temperatures stay higher than expected.
2
Unexpected cyclingThe AC repeatedly starts and stops instead of running normally.
3
Noise, smell, water, or iceNew changes in system behavior can be a reason to contact an HVAC service provider.
